Delete your PawCheck account
Last updated: September 27, 2026
PawCheck (the Android and iPhone app) is made by VOLTAIXGROUP LLC, a Florida limited liability company, also called Voltaix Group on this site. This page explains how to delete your PawCheck account, in the app or by email without reinstalling it, what is deleted, and what we keep and for how long.
First, your subscription
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Your subscription is billed by the store you bought it from, and only that store can cancel it. Cancel it first, or you may keep being charged for an account that no longer exists:
- Google Play: in the app, Pets tab › Settings › Membership › Manage subscription, or open the Play Store › your profile › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions.
- App Store: in the app, Pets tab › Settings › Membership › Manage subscription, or open iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions.
- pawcheck.co (web): follow the steps at pawcheck.co/manage.
Not sure where you subscribed? pawcheck.co/manage explains how to tell.
Delete in the app
- Open PawCheck and go to the Pets tab.
- Tap the gear icon (top right) to open Settings.
- Under Data & Privacy, tap Delete account.
- Confirm with Delete Account.
The same steps work on Android and iPhone. The app asks our server to delete your account; the server removes the records listed below and then your sign-in, and the app clears PawCheck's data from your phone and returns to the start screen. This takes effect right away and cannot be undone. Signing up again later creates a new, empty account.
If the app asks you to sign in again first, do so and try once more. If you can't reach Settings (for example, the subscription screen is showing), use the email route below.
Delete by email, without the app
You don't need the app installed to delete your account. Email team@pawcheck.co with the subject "Delete my PawCheck account", from the email address on your account. If you signed in with Apple or Google, tell us which, and the email address that sign-in uses (for Sign in with Apple's "Hide My Email", the relay address).
We'll confirm the request comes from you, then delete the same records the in-app button deletes and reply when it's done. We aim to complete email requests within 30 days.
Uninstalling the app does not delete your account or your data.
What is deleted
Account deletion removes your personal data from our systems. Specifically:
- Your sign-in: the account itself (name, email address, sign-in method and, for email accounts, the password held by Google Firebase Authentication). You can no longer sign in.
- Your account record: name, email address, sign-in method, subscription status, app version, sign-up and sign-in dates, and your synced data: pet profiles (name, species, breed, age, weight, allergies, health conditions, goals, preferences, notes and photo thumbnail), scan history, favorites and shelf, activity counts, in-app preferences, any creator code you entered, and your device's push-notification tokens.
- Your recall data on our server: the recall watch list of products you scanned, your recall alerts, the record of alerts delivered to you, and any test copies of alerts kept for review.
- On your phone: your pets, scans, scan thumbnails and preferences are cleared.
These records are deleted immediately, as part of the same request. There is no "deactivated" state and no recovery period.
What is kept, and for how long
Deletion is complete for your account and personal data. A few records are kept for the reasons below. Where they refer to you at all, they carry only your account ID (a random string), never your name or email address, unless noted.
- Product corrections ("Not right?" reports): the product, your note and the reason, with your account ID. Kept as part of our quality records, with no set end date. Email us and we'll remove your account ID from them.
- Readings you contributed to the shared product catalogue: the label details read from products you scanned, with your account ID, kept as part of the catalogue so products can be identified for everyone. Email us and we'll remove your account ID from them.
- Billing records: the subscription events our subscription provider (RevenueCat) sends us and the customer record we build from them, kept as long as needed for accounting, tax, refunds and disputes. If your account started a free trial, we also keep hashed (one-way scrambled) records that your account, email address or device has used a trial, so each person gets one; these hashes are not reversible into your email address.
- Creator commission records: if you used a creator's code, the commission records credited to that code stay in our books. Creators see only counts and amounts, never who you are.
- Short-lived records that expire on their own: daily AI usage counts (about three days) and unconfirmed barcode links (about one hour).
- Server logs: kept for a limited time for troubleshooting; they can include your account ID and the names of products scanned.
- Records held by other companies: account deletion does not automatically remove your customer record at RevenueCat, your usage events at PostHog, or the ad-measurement events at Meta. Email us and we'll delete them or ask those providers to. Apple, Google and Stripe keep their own payment records under their own policies.
Our Privacy Policy describes each of these records, why we hold them and how long we keep them.
